The Yarn A Long 2021 theme was jewels and brights. Participants got to select all bright yarn kits or all jewel toned color palettes. Mominoki create gorgeous color pop kits for the Shawl Party pattern, which featured one main color with five contrast color pops. We love Mominoki Yarn for their sophisticated color palette and nuanced tonal dye style. Shawl Party invited slip stitches, short rows, stripes, and chevrons together for this fun-to-knit semi-circle design.

The second shawl was very exciting because we debuted two new West Wool colorways, Tiger, a rich warm toffee shade, and Fuchsia, an unapologetic saturated pink. We combined each new West Wool colorway with a custom dyed skein of Spincycle Dyed in the Wool. The result was a mesmerizing slip stitch pattern that Stephen developed to show off Spincycle's beautiful self-striping marled style.

The Yarn A Long finished with a bang, as we revealed the final color palettes from LolaBean Yarn Co., a screaming neon yellow and coral fade for the brights, and shimmering purple-y blues for the jewels. The Eyelex Shawl fades three colors together from light to dark as you knit easy garter stitch with eyelets. The unique geometric shawl shape is beginner friendly to knit and striking to wear.
