The Westknits Mystery Shawl Knit along (MKAL) occurs each fall. Get ready to celebrate 15 years of MKAL magic with this year’s shawl: Go Go Dynamo! This design is bursting with energy, featuring bold, playful details that will keep you on your toes.

Twisted Ambitions - MKAL 2024 Dyer Spotlight

GEOGRADIENT

Geogradient was the 14th MKAL shawl, showcasing a striking geometric design with four gradient colours of fingering weight yarn. The journey began with a centre square, where colours transitioned seamlessly from light to dark. A crochet option added a fun twist in Section 1, followed by eyelet stripes that flowed into a zigzag slip stitch pattern. The modular border featured a playful dip stitch technique, adding dynamic texture before finishing with festive fringe.

Shawlography

This semi-circular shawl was originally published as the Westknits Mystery Shawl Knit Along in 2021. Choose five contrasting colors of fingering weight yarn and enjoy all of the fun textures throughout this shawl. Stripes, short rows, slip stitches, I-cord loops, bobbles, and welts all contribute to the colorful collage of knitted fabric. The instructions include free video links that visually demonstrate the techniques so you can knit your Shawlography with confidence and enjoy your wearable work of art.
