Isager's Alpaca 2 is a lofty, light fingering weight yarn that's full of charm. When worked up alone, it yields an airy yet warm fabric that's perfect for light weight garments and shawls: a true trans-seasonal hero. Like many of Isager's bases, Alpaca 2 also excels when used for marling. Hold two strands of Alpaca 2 together for a denser fabric, or introduce a strand of a different base, like Silk Mohair and play with textural and colour nuance.
The blend of merino and alpaca fibres and a low-twist ply construction make this yarn whisper soft. Many of the colourways have a small proportion of dark alpaca fibres in the blend, giving the final yarn a softly heathered finish that we adore. The colour palette is pure Scandinavian chic and plays well with other yarns, both hand and commercially dyed.
