Increases at one edge shape the fabric with twisted ribbing. A smocked knitting stitch creates the beautiful, gathered texture throughout the design. Choose one colour of fingering weight wool and hold it together with a coordinating colour of lace weight mohair silk. I used West Wool Bicycle held together with Glowhair for a shimmering, fluffy halo. The pattern includes video tutorials to help you cast on and work the smocked knitting technique. Instructions include a small and a large size with tips to help you customise the size to work with any yardage amounts. Decreases shape the other half of the triangle, so save 50% of more of your yarn for the decreases to maximise the size of the shawl and ensure you don’t run out of yarn.

All rights reserved.
