DYED IN THE WOOL - VERBA VOLANT

DESCRIPTION

Spincycle’s Dyed in the Wool is a thing of beauty. It’s a small batch mill-spun yarn that has all the nuance and texture of a hand-spun yarn. The fibre for each colour way is first kettle dyed, then spun and plied into a plump sport weight yarn that features long colour changes, unpredictable transitions, and the gorgeous barber-pole effect that is characteristic of hand-spun yarn. Each skein is utterly unique, even within a dyelot. That is the magic of crafting with Dyed in the Wool.

Spincycle Yarns are dyed and spun in Washington from mulesing-free, USA raised sheep. Colours vary between skeins due to the dyed in the wool process. We’ve photographed multiple skeins in this dyelot to show the colour range, though this listing is for one skein of yarn. We recommend you purchase sufficient yarn for your project so we can hand select skeins that match as closely as possible.

Fibre: 100% Superwash American Wool (a blend of Corriedale, Rambouillet, and Columbia sheep)
Weight: 50g
Thickness: Sport weight
Construction: Two-ply
Length: 183 meters | 200 yards
Gauge: 20-34 stitches = 10cm | 4 inches
Needle Size: 2.75 - 3.75 mm | US 2 - 5
Care: Hand wash cold, lay flat to dry. Although the yarn is superwash treated, we recommend hand washing to preserve colour brilliance. For high contrast colourwork, we suggest testing darker skeins for possible colour transfer by soaking them first, and steam blocking your final project to avoid colour transfer.
