Founded in 2008 by Beata Jezek, Hedgehog Fibres was born out of a simple desire to create the yarn that Beata herself wanted to knit with. What started as a personal quest for softer textures and more vibrant pigments in a kitchen has grown into a world-renowned dye studio based in Ireland.

The name "Hedgehog" is a nod to Beata’s Slovakian roots (where Ježek means hedgehog). From moody, earthy tones to the neon-speckled skeins, every batch is dyed with the belief that if the team wouldn't knit with it themselves, it doesn't leave the studio.
