Harvest Hues Worsted from John Arbon Textiles is a deeply satisfying worsted-weight yarn that feels as though it was made with the colder months firmly in mind. Substantial, warm, and wonderfully cosy to work with, it is particularly well suited to thick, enveloping sweaters and cold-weather accessories. What truly sets Harvest Hues apart, however, is its exceptional fibre blend, a thoughtfully constructed combination of three distinct wools that each bring something unique to the finished yarn. Dyed Falklands Merino contributes its signature softness and a gentle elasticity, while lustrous Bluefaced Leicester adds a beautiful sheen and a smooth, refined quality. The third element is perhaps the most distinctive of all: the naturally dark fibre of local Zwartbles sheep, whose rich, characterful fleece grounds the blend and adds depth, bounce, and a quiet rustic soul that feels entirely in keeping with the yarn's origins. And those origins are everything - the beautiful colour palette of Harvest Hues was directly inspired by the subtle, shifting tones of autumn in Devon, capturing the muted golds, warm rusts, soft mosses, and deep earthy shades of the season in a range that feels as though it has been lifted straight from the landscape itself.

Commercially dyed yarn is dyed in large vats, usually made into large hanks of 1 kilo or more. The yarn is dyed to an extremely precise, all over colour using gradually rising heat. You can generally expect commercially dyed yarn to be very even and dye baths to be exact.

Commercially dyed yarn is wonderful for projects where you want a consistent, all over colour, or even colourwork pieces like fair isle or stranded knitting.

• Items made from 100% Wool should be washed by hand in cold or lukewarm water with a gentle rinse-free detergent. Use very little agitation when washing so as not to felt or full the fabric. Never wring or twist handmade woollen items when washing.
• Gently squeeze as much water as possible, roll in a towel and press moisture out. Then lay your finished piece flat to dry.

Wool does not need to be washed after every wear as it is a natural, breathable product. When you can see (or, rarely, smell) that a woollen item is in need of washing, follow the above instructions
