About Walk Merlino

Walk Collection Merlino is a yarn that balances softness and structure to create breathable, lightweight fabrics. Its merino and linen blend gives finished garments a gentle drape and a subtle texture, making it ideal for sweaters, tops, and shawls designed for warmer weather or transitional seasons. The yarn’s stitch definition and smooth hand make it enjoyable to knit and wear.

About Walk Collection

WALK COLLECTION stands for small-batch, hand-dyed yarns created with a distinct point of view on colour, quality, and craftsmanship. Each base is thoughtfully selected and carefully dyed to bring out depth, nuance, and character, resulting in yarns that feel as considered as the projects they become. The result is a perfect balance between creativity and technical expertise, ensuring every skein is both beautiful and reliable to work with.

Inspired by nature, architecture, art, and the details of everyday life, the team develops colourways that feel modern yet enduring — from subtle, earthy neutrals to expressive, layered tones. Quality and responsibility sit at the heart of the brand’s philosophy, with close partnerships with trusted spinners who share a commitment to animal welfare, fair working conditions, and environmentally conscious production. The result is a cohesive, versatile range produced with integrity and care.

Why you'll love Hand Dyed Yarn

Hand dyed yarn is extra special because every skein is one of a kind. There are no batches and no perfectly matched skeins. This is where you can see the artistic point of view of each dye house we work with. Some dyers are quite exact in their repeatable colours while others are quite artistic and splashy, valuing the creation of each skein rather than the closeness of the colourway.

We take great care to photograph our products accurately, and still the unique skeins in your order may look different to the photograph, and they may even look different to each other. If you are using hand dyed yarns and are concerned with dramatic colour changes, when changing from one skein to the next, alternate rows to blend in the new skein.

Care Instructions

Items made from this wool/linen blend should be washed by hand in cold or lukewarm water with a gentle rinse-free detergent. Wash gently but never wring or twist when washing.
Gently squeeze as much water as possible, roll in a towel and press moisture out. Then lay finished piece flat to dry, blocking to shape.

Linen softens in use and washing, so expect the fabric to relax through wash and use as long as the wool isn't agitated, causing it to shrink.

Benefits of this Yarn

Wool/linen blends combine the benefits of 100% natural and sustainable wool with the strength and natural sheen of Linen. This makes the yarn a good choice for hand made items that you want to have some drape and be slightly lighter than 100% wool. With such a high percentage of wool, this yarn will still be quite warm.
