About Soul

Soul by Punk Rock Unicorn is a cloud-soft merino base with a high wool content that truly lives up to its name. Incredibly gentle on the hands and skin, it has that buttery, cushy feel you want for next-to-skin projects, while still offering beautiful bounce and structure. Soul knits and crochets into fabric that’s smooth, cosy, and comforting—perfect for garments, accessories, and anything meant to be worn and loved. This is an easygoing, feel-good yarn that turns every stitch into a little moment of joy.

About Punk Rock Unicorn

In the heart of the Vulkaneifel, a small team hand-dyes every skein with dedication, precision, and a love for colour. Each yarn is a one-of-a-kind piece, shaped by traditional craftsmanship and fresh creative ideas.

From bold rainbows to gentle natural tones, their palette is as diverse as the makers who use it. The result is yarn that becomes more than a material – it becomes the foundation for modern textile artworks, cherished by a new generation of knitters and valued for years to come.

As makers themselves, the team lives and breathes hand-dyed yarn. Every colourway is tested in real projects, from the first stitch to the final bind-off. Only when a yarn sparks genuine excitement and joy does it earn its place in their range.

Why you'll love Hand Dyed Yarn

Hand dyed yarn is extra special because every skein is one of a kind. There are no batches and no perfectly matched skeins. This is where you can see the artistic point of view of each dye house we work with. Some dyers are quite exact in their repeatable colours while others are quite artistic and splashy, valuing the creation of each skein rather than the closeness of the colourway.

We take great care to photograph our products accurately, and still the unique skeins in your order may look different to the photograph, and they may even look different to each other. If you are using hand dyed yarns and are concerned with dramatic colour changes, when changing from one skein to the next, alternate rows to blend in the new skein.

Care Instructions

Items made from this superwash wool/nylon blend should be washed by hand in cold or lukewarm water with a gentle rinse-free detergent. Wash gently but never wring or twist when washing.
Gently squeeze as much water as possible, roll in a towel and press moisture out. Then lay your finished piece flat to dry, blocking to shape.

We recommend washing even superwash wool by hand, as it will extend the life of your precious hand made items!
