Hedgehog Fibres is BACK for this year's MKAL: Color Kaleidoscope, and we couldn’t be happier to have her splashy, fresh colour combinations joining the adventure!
We caught up with Beata to talk colour, inspiration and the joy of putting unexpected shades together. So, let’s take a peek inside Beata’s color kaleidoscope...
"I love fun speckly pastels with bold darks at the moment!" she tells us. A combination that feels very Hedgehog Fibres indeed.
We asked Beata if she could decorate the outside of her own kaleidoscope, what images would she include?
"Some of my kids' drawings would be cute, they love using bright colours and 'rainbow' is the theme of choice for them at the moment."
And when it comes to actually playing with all those colours? Beata is all in. "I love, love, love marled knitting and crochet!" She’s also a quilter, so naturally, fabric shopping gets a place in the colour playground too.
Beata has a Pinterest board full of colour ideas, unexpected combinations are always welcome, and there’s even a current colour obsession to contend with. Lilac, it seems, is having a serious moment at Hedgehog Fibres.
"I currently have to stop myself from knitting everything in lilac!"
Perhaps Beata’s best colour advice is also the simplest: "keep your eyes open, inspiration is everywhere!" And with a kaleidoscope full of colour ahead of us, we think that’s a pretty good place to start.
