MKAL 2015 - THE DOODLER

July 21, 2022 1 min read

If you love funky construction and uniquely shaped shawls, then The Doodler is for you. Short rows with contrast color pop eyelets form a butterfly wing shape. The short rows are created using a technique called the Westknits Shortcut Row where you just stop your row, turn around and go the other way. A yarn over highlights each short row turn, showing off how simple and effortless knitting techniques can be. A garter stitch cable crescendos along the wingspan edge. This cable feature was a big surprise during the knit along and became the signature element of this organically shaped shawl. Three colors of fingering weight yarn are all you need to knit this one of a kind creation.
