Owner Cierra moved there from Denver, United States in 2019. After teaching herself to knit many years ago, she decided to try dying her own yarn in 2021 with five skeins of Polwarth yarn. She loved every minute and it quickly developed into a whole business! Their beautiful colours are inspired by nature and their adventures travelling the world! Animal welfare is very important with all of their fibres being sourced from cruelty free mills where mulesing is not practised.

Life in The Long Grass ensures their environmental impact is as sustainable as possible by using non-toxic acid dyes and reusing their water to minimise wastage. LITLG colourways are a reflection of Caroline’s background in graphic design and her love for the bucolic Irish landscapes.

Caroline encapsulates Life In The Long Grass’ spirit with this concise yet meaningful sentence: "To work in a creative space and create jobs for wonderful local people and then endeavour to translate the colours of nature and life onto yarn is what Life in the Long Grass is all about"."
