Westknits
BATAD
Batad is a classic Westknits pattern which echos the terraced rice fields of the Philippines, where Stephen designed this pattern in 2013. Stockinette stitch welts and garter stitch short rows are worked seamlessly from the top neck edge. There is only one purl round after each welt so the rest of the rounds and rows utilise quick and easy knit stitches. Every short row turn is accentuated by a yarn over to shape the expanding fabric. Wear it draped over one shoulder or slouchy style as a cowl.
Yarn Requirements: 200g of fingering weight yarn in two coloursIf you are using a West Wool Bicycle kit, you may need to bind off one section early to ensure you don't run out of yarn.
