Shangdrok started as a workshop where local women in the Tibetan Plateau hand spun yarn. They strive to embrace traditional craftsmanship and celebrate the traditional skills that are slowly fading away in the rush of the modern market. By sharing these products with the world, they hope to instill a sense of pride not only in a key feature of their cultural heritage, but also in themselves.
The hand-dyed yarns started during the pandemic with a gorgeous palette of colours. Head dyer April brings the colours from her imagination into reality to both celebrate her own creativity and inspire all crafters.
