About Baby Alpaca

Imagine's Baby Alpaca is a fingering weight yarn spun completely in alpaca. The fibre is incredibly soft making your final project not only incredibly warm, but also an absolute delight to wear. It's also suitable for projects for children! This yarn is extra unique as the skeins are completely undyed. From the rich dark browns to the light fresh creams, this beautiful neutral palette shows the true colour and lustre of the animal from which it came.

About Imagine Wool

Imagine Wool is a sustainable yarn brand founded by a Swedish‑Swiss couple driven by a shared passion for knitting, natural fibres, and environmental responsibility. They set out to create yarns that makers could feel good about — crafted from high‑quality, natural fibres like GOTS‑certified merino and ethically sourced baby alpaca and produced with care for people, animals, and the planet.

Imagine’s collection features soft, versatile yarns including DK, sport, and merino‑linen blends, all available undyed for makers who love to customise colour or prefer the beauty of nature’s own tones. Their merino wool is mulesing‑free and responsibly selected, reflecting the brand’s commitment to animal welfare and sustainable sourcing, and the production processes emphasise ecological standards from fibre to finished skein.

Designed for conscious makers who value both natural quality and mindful craft, Imagine Yarn offers fibres that are soft, functional, and as honest as the makers who choose them — perfect for knitting garments and accessories that celebrate both creativity and sustainability.

Care Instructions

Items made from this yarn should be carefully washed by hand in cool water using a gentle wool detergent or wool wash.
Keep agitation to an absolute minimum while washing to avoid unnecessary stress on the fibres.
Never wring or twist your finished piece.
Gently squeeze out as much water as possible, then roll the item in a towel and press to remove excess moisture. Lay flat to dry, carefully shaping it back to its original dimensions.

This fibre does not need to be washed after every wear. It is naturally breathable, so washing is only necessary when the item looks (or, occasionally, smells) like it needs it.
