Pattern details

Gather two colours of fingering-weight wool like West Wool Bicycle and enjoy cushy brioche cables. The hat begins with an Italian Tubular cast-on for brioche and a video tutorial demonstrating this stylish technique. Then, two-colour brioche creates a plush and cosy fabric with billowing braided cables flowing toward the top of the hat. Choose between three sizes and experience the amazing squish of brioche cables. The hat is reversible too! Wear the light colour on the outside or show off the dark side or a colour pop when wearing the hat inside out.

Finished Measurements

16 (19.5, 23)″ / 41 (50, 58)cm circumference, 11″ / 28cm tall. Measurements taken after blocking.

I recommend selecting a hat size that is about 2 – 3″ / 5 – 8cm smaller than your actual head circumference. The hat stretches comfortably with the flexible brioche fabric, so it’s best for the actual hat circumference to be a bit smaller than your head circumference.

Medium size is shown on a 22.5″ / 57cm head circumference
with 3″ / 8cm of negative ease.
