About Qing Fibre

Qing Fibre is a hand-dyed yarn studio founded by Layla (Qing) Yang out of a desire for colourways that express personality, joy, and artistic vision. What began with dyeing yarn in a small London flat quickly grew into a dedicated studio in London and, later, a second space in Beijing, reflecting the brand’s expanding creative journey.

Their fibres are carefully sourced from some of the world’s finest mills and then hand-dyed in small batches using vibrant, dreamy, and unconventional colourways that are as expressive as works of art.

Each collection starts with a mood board inspired by art, nature, and moments of beauty, and is developed through experimentation to achieve the right combination of hues and textures. Qing Fibre also creates original patterns that echo the same bold, creative spirit, encouraging makers to explore a braver, more playful side of their craft and to make projects that stand out with artistic flair.

Why you'll love Hand Dyed Yarn

Hand dyed yarn is extra special because every skein is one of a kind. There are no batches and no perfectly matched skeins. This is where you can see the artistic point of view of each dye house we work with. Some dyers are quite exact in their repeatable colours while others are quite artistic and splashy, valuing the creation of each skein rather than the closeness of the colourway.

We take great care to photograph our products accurately, and still the unique skeins in your order may look different to the photograph, and they may even look different to each other. If you are using hand dyed yarns and are concerned with dramatic colour changes, when changing from one skein to the next, alternate rows to blend in the new skein.

Care Instructions

We recommend that items made from 100% Superwash Wool be washed by hand in cold or lukewarm water with a gentle rinse-free detergent. Never wring or twist woollen pieces when washing.
Gently squeeze as much water as possible, roll in a towel and press moisture out. Then lay your finished piece flat to dry.

Wool does not need to be washed after every wear as it is a natural, breathable product. When you can see (or, rarely, smell) that a woollen item is in need of washing, follow the above instructions

You may ask why we suggest hand washing superwash knits. While you should be able to wash superwash knits in a more conventional way, we believe that superwash wool benefits from gentle care, as it will extend the life of your precious hand knit items!

Super soft

Some yarns draw your attention from across the room. And this is exactly what happened to me when I stepped into the shop, so I brought a good amount of Dashing Sassy home with me.
