Why you'll love Commercially Dyed Yarn

Commercially dyed yarn is dyed in large vats, usually made into large hanks of 1 kilo or more. The yarn is dyed to an extremely precise, all over colour using gradually rising heat. You can generally expect commercially dyed yarn to be very even and dye baths to be exact.

Commercially dyed yarn is wonderful for projects where you want a consistent, all over colour, or even colourwork pieces like fair isle or stranded knitting.

Care Instructions

Items made from this yarn should be washed by hand in cool water using a gentle wool detergent or wool wash.
Keep agitation to an absolute minimum while washing to avoid unnecessary stress on the fibres.
Never wring or twist your finished piece.
Gently squeeze out as much water as possible, then roll the item in a towel and press to remove excess moisture. Lay flat to dry, carefully shaping it back to its original dimensions.

This fibre does not need to be washed after every wear. It is naturally breathable, so washing is only necessary when the item looks (or, occasionally, smells) like it needs it.
