About Tough Sock Mini

Tough Sock Minis from WALK Collection are compact, versatile skeins of superwash wool and nylon, perfect for adding bursts of colour without committing to a full skein. Each mini is ideal for colourwork, stripes, accents, or small projects like socks, mitts, baby items, or accessories.

The wool-nylon blend gives these minis the durability, elasticity, and softness you expect from Walk Tough Sock, ensuring your small projects are as resilient and comfortable as full-size pieces. Their bite-sized format makes them perfect for experimenting with new colours, combining shades, or finishing leftover yarn in creative ways.

About Walk Collection

WALK COLLECTION stands for small-batch, hand-dyed yarns created with a distinct point of view on colour, quality, and craftsmanship. Each base is thoughtfully selected and carefully dyed to bring out depth, nuance, and character, resulting in yarns that feel as considered as the projects they become. The result is a perfect balance between creativity and technical expertise, ensuring every skein is both beautiful and reliable to work with.

Inspired by nature, architecture, art, and the details of everyday life, the team develops colourways that feel modern yet enduring — from subtle, earthy neutrals to expressive, layered tones. Quality and responsibility sit at the heart of the brand’s philosophy, with close partnerships with trusted spinners who share a commitment to animal welfare, fair working conditions, and environmentally conscious production. The result is a cohesive, versatile range produced with integrity and care.

Why you'll love Hand Dyed Yarn

Hand dyed yarn is extra special because every skein is one of a kind. There are no batches and no perfectly matched skeins. This is where you can see the artistic point of view of each dye house we work with. Some dyers are quite exact in their repeatable colours while others are quite artistic and splashy, valuing the creation of each skein rather than the closeness of the colourway.

We take great care to photograph our products accurately, and still the unique skeins in your order may look different to the photograph, and they may even look different to each other. If you are using hand dyed yarns and are concerned with dramatic colour changes, when changing from one skein to the next, alternate rows to blend in the new skein.

Care Instructions

Items made from this superwash wool/nylon blend should be washed by hand in cold or lukewarm water with a gentle rinse-free detergent. Wash gently but never wring or twist when washing.
Gently squeeze as much water as possible, roll in a towel and press moisture out. Then lay finished piece flat to dry, blocking to shape.

We recommend washing even superwash wool by hand, as it will extend the life of your precious hand made items!

Benefits of this Yarn

Superwash Wool Nylon blends combine the benefits of 100% natural and sustainable wool with the sturdiness of Nylon. This makes the yarn a good choice for snuggly socks, accessories and garments. This blend results in a durable yet soft finished item.
