Why you'll love Commercially Dyed Yarn

Commercially dyed yarn is dyed in large vats, usually made into large hanks of 1 kilo or more. The yarn is dyed to an extremely precise, all over colour using gradually rising heat. You can generally expect commercially dyed yarn to be very even and dye baths to be exact.

Commercially dyed yarn is wonderful for projects where you want a consistent, all over colour, or even colourwork pieces like fair isle or stranded knitting.

Care Instructions

Items made from this superwash wool/nylon blend should be washed by hand in cold or lukewarm water with a gentle rinse-free detergent. Wash gently but never wring or twist when washing.
Gently squeeze as much water as possible, roll in a towel and press moisture out. Then lay your finished piece flat to dry, blocking to shape.

We recommend washing even superwash wool by hand, as it will extend the life of your precious hand made items!

Lovely color

Lovely color changes!

So very nice to knit with

I got this for the 2026 SSAL and I find it so very nice to knit with. The stitch definition is beautiful. The colour change is subtle and exciting to watch happen.

Very interesting colour changes, I'm glad I chose this colour for my project.

I have used this yarn before in other colors. I’m not sure if the colors matter but the yarn I purchased here is extremely inconsistent. The guage is all over the place. I’m knitting across the row watching the yarn change drastically.
I think the shawl I’m making will hide the inconsistencies but I definitely do not appreciate how bad the changes are.
