August 2025 - Andrea Gaughan

Andrea Gaughan is a knitwear designer based in Asheville, North Carolina. She came to design out of her interests in creating art from natural materials and slow fashion. She loves both art and math and has found knitwear design to be a perfect combination of the two. Her style is ever evolving, but includes a mix of inspiration from vintage and contemporary fashion.

Andrea's knitting patterns are written with a focus on clear instructions and excellent fit. This includes all of her patterns being size inclusive. From December 2024 onwards, her patterns also have two fit options based on traditional men's and women's sizing charts to better help folks of all genders get a great fit. She loves to explore different knitting techniques and construction methods and hopes her patterns can empower other knitters to do the same. 

Besides crafting, Andrea's other major love in life is nature. On the weekends you can find her hiking or camping in the Blue Ridge Mountains or working in her garden. She loves learning about birds, insects, flowers, edible plants, and all other parts of the natural world. She's recently gotten into trail running and is enjoying a new way of spending time outdoors.
