Spring is on its way and the Westknits’ Yarn A Long (YAL) 2023 will be the first of its flowers. This year’s YAL is all about fresh blooms, lush and harmonious hand-dyed yarn palettes, and iridescent pops of colour.

Each month in May, June, and July, you will receive a surprise collection of custom hand-dyed yarn to knit a brand new shawl. Each shawl is knit using gorgeous floral whispers of colours dyed on super soft wool or wool blend bases by some of our favourite dyers.

Each of your exclusive packages will include knitting-related gifts designed by Malia Joseph (the Penelope in Stephen & Penelope), all inspired by the Flora theme.

YAL sign ups will take place on the 1st of March at 16:00 Amsterdam time, so set your alarms by checking what time that is in your time zone here.

Previous year YAL subscriptions have always sold out so if you want to be 100% sure to get involved in this year's YAL, make sure not to wait too long!

What is the YAL?

Our Yarn A Long is an exclusive three-month subscription experience where you receive surprise squishy yarn mail once a month in May, June, and July.

Each package includes three or four skeins of curated hand-dyed yarn, knitting-related gifts, and an exclusive pattern, two from Stephen West and one from Malia Joseph. The shawl patterns will be delivered to you digitally as a PDF file at the beginning of May, June, and July.
The YAL adventure is suitable for adventurous beginners and experienced knitters alike and features fun new knitting techniques for you to enjoy with each colour story.
We can't wait for you to discover your lovely packages and enjoy your striking new shawls this summer.
