Kait is a fiber artist based in the US, working primarily with knitting, spinning, and dyeing. Her practice is rooted in color and experimentation drawing inspiration from her travels, nature and observing the world around her.
Through her work, Kait explores unique textures and colour combinations, often using her own hand spun and hand dyed yarn to create pieces that feel close to tradition but also have a modern spin including contemporary shapes and styles. Each project reflects a deep appreciation for the process and the quiet beauty of handmade work.
She dreams of one day owning a farm where she can raise animals for their fibers, turning wool and alpaca into beautiful handmade pieces. For now, she's focused on sharing her love for fiber arts and creating pieces that bring comfort and creativity into the world
As Curator of the Month, Kait will be sharing inspiration centred around patterns, colours, and textures, offering a glimpse into the ideas and influences that shape her creative world.

Click the moodboard to take a closer look at the patterns Kait can’t stop thinking about. They are either designs she has knit before and would happily revisit, or those she’s been itching to cast on next. Many play with colour and texture in ways that feel very tactile, perfect for bringing out the depth of hand-spun or hand dyed yarn.
The patterns and designers she mentions:
1. The Great Lakes Pullover by @ozetta
2. The Scrunchie Bag by @loupystudio
3. The Arachne Dress by @bosong_knitting
4. The Joyce Socks by @stoneknits
5. The Rybka Pouch by @ratandseawitch
6. The Quilt Block Scarf by @starcrossed.knits
7. The Vivian Cardigan by @kisskiss.rhinestones
8. The Groove Warmers by @minigru.studios
Take a look at Kait’s colour combination inspiration and the shades she’s loving paired together right now. Think soft pastels set against dark, moody tones to create a bold yet elegant style. These combinations play with contrast in a way that feels both refined and expressive, allowing each hue to shine while adding depth and drama to your knitting.
