September 2025 - Studio Klara

Studio Klara is run by Klara, a 27 year old crochet and knitting pattern designer living in Arnhem. While Klara's mother was an avid knitter, her grandmother taught her knitting and crochet. Her grandmother and Klara were righthanded, whilst her mother is lefthanded. After making some amigurimi in her teen years she did not touch a needle or a hook for a couple years, but in 2018 she got addicted to crochet again. The freedom of making anything you can imagine is what motivated her. This is how she also started creating, writing and selling her patterns. In 2020, amidst the Covid pandemic, she also picked up knitting again.

She hopes to show others what the true value of fashion is, through teaching them to make for themselves. Even if you only make one scarf in your lifetime, you get to experience the time and attention that goes into making out clothes. Klara likes to work with unique patterns and creative colourwork, because handmade clothing does not have to be boring. The combination of graphic design and knitting is what has been most inspiring to Klara lately.
