About Cashmere

Cashmere from Kit Couture is a luxurious fingering-weight yarn made from 100% cashmere and produced in northern Italy. Exceptionally soft and a pleasure to knit with, it creates fabric that feels gentle against the skin. Cashmere’s temperature-regulating qualities help keep finished knits comfortable to wear.

About Kit Couture

Kit Couture is a Copenhagen-based yarn brand founded by Line Rix in 2014, with a focus on quality fibres and carefully considered colour palettes. Produced in northern Italy, Cashmere is a soft 100% cashmere yarn with a beautiful drape, while Wool Cotton blends 53% wool and 47% cotton for softness and gentle, year-round warmth. Each has its own distinct character, bringing thoughtful colour and texture to everyday knitting.

Why you'll love Commercially Dyed Yarn

Commercially dyed yarn is dyed in large vats, usually made into large hanks of 1 kilo or more. The yarn is dyed to an extremely precise, all over colour using gradually rising heat. You can generally expect commercially dyed yarn to be very even and dye baths to be exact.

Commercially dyed yarn is wonderful for projects where you want a consistent, all over colour, or even colourwork pieces like fair isle or stranded knitting.

Care Instructions

Hand wash in cool or lukewarm water with a gentle detergent suitable for cashmere. Keep agitation to a minimum and do not wring or twist.

Gently squeeze out excess water, then roll in a towel and press to remove moisture. Lay flat, reshape carefully and air dry away from direct heat or sunlight. Do not tumble dry.

Benefits of this Yarn

Cashmere is a fine natural fibre prized for its exceptional softness and lightweight warmth. It creates a gently draping fabric that feels comfortable against the skin, making it well suited to cosy garments and accessories.
