Melted Baby Suri - Shiitake

Melted Baby Suri is Qing Fibre's outrageously fluffy cloud of softness - a dreamy blend of Baby Suri Alpaca, Merino, and Silk that comes together to create one of the most texturally satisfying yarns you'll ever work with. Technically a fingering weight, we'd encourage you to go up a needle size or two to really let the yarn breathe and allow its impressive halo to bloom fully - the resulting fabric is airy, soft, and genuinely beautiful. It's a natural choice for textural shawls and sweaters, and works particularly well as a contrast yarn in brioche projects, where its fuzz and halo add warmth and depth against a smoother companion. Available across Qing Fibre's expansive and carefully considered colour palette, Melted Baby Suri is, quite simply, a dream to work with.

Hand dyed yarn is extra special because every skein is one of a kind. There are no batches and no perfectly matched skeins. This is where you can see the artistic point of view of each dye house we work with. Some dyers are quite exact in their repeatable colours while others are quite artistic and splashy, valuing the creation of each skein rather than the closeness of the colourway.

We take great care to photograph our products accurately, and still the unique skeins in your order may look different to the photograph, and they may even look different to each other. If you are using hand dyed yarns and are concerned with dramatic colour changes, when changing from one skein to the next, alternate rows to blend in the new skein.

• Items made from this yarn should be carefully washed by hand in cool water using a gentle wool detergent or wool wash.
• Keep agitation to an absolute minimum while washing to avoid unnecessary stress on the fibres.
• Never wring or twist your finished piece.
• Gently squeeze out as much water as possible, then roll the item in a towel and press to remove excess moisture. Lay flat to dry, carefully shaping it back to its original dimensions.

This fibre does not need to be washed after every wear. It is naturally breathable, so washing is only necessary when the item looks (or, occasionally, smells) like it needs it.
