Organic Cotton from ONION is a sport weight yarn spun from 100% cotton — a straightforward, honest plant-based fibre that does exactly what you need it to do. For knitters with sensitivities to animal fibres, it's an excellent and reliable choice, offering all the pleasure of working with a quality yarn without any of the irritation that wool can sometimes cause. Cotton produces a fabric that is light, breathable, and naturally cooling against the skin, which makes this an ideal yarn to reach for when warmer weather projects are on the needles — think summer tops, beach cover-ups, and lightweight accessories that actually get worn. Commercially dyed yarn is dyed in large vats, usually made into large hanks of 1 kilo or more. The yarn is dyed to an extremely precise, all over colour using gradually rising heat. You can generally expect commercially dyed yarn to be very even and dye baths to be exact.

Commercially dyed yarn is wonderful for projects where you want a consistent, all over colour, or even colourwork pieces like fair isle or stranded knitting.
