About Wicked DK

Wicked DK is a devilishly soft double knit yarn from Twisted Ambition Yarns, and it lives up to its name in the very best way. Spun from 100% superwash merino, it has that wonderfully warm, woolly feeling we all love — with the added bonus of being beautifully gentle on the skin and wonderfully easy to care for. Hand-dyed by Ross Taylor in his ever-evolving, show-stopping palette, the colour combinations are as bold and creative as your imagination will allow. Whether you're casting on a cosy sweater, a statement accessory, or something entirely your own, Wicked DK is sure to inspire.

About Twisted Ambitions

Twisted Ambitions Yarn is a vibrant, expressive hand‑dyed yarn brand born from the creative vision of Ross Taylor, supported by Steve Taylor, and rooted in a passion for colour and community. What started as a garage dye studio in Oklahoma has evolved into a joyful small‑batch yarn business that sees colour as emotional storytelling and a source of inspiration for makers everywhere.

Every skein is hand‑dyed with care, intention, and artistic flair, resulting in bold, fun, and personality‑filled fibres that reflect the brand’s belief that yarn should be as lively and unique as the people who use it. Twisted Ambitions Yarn is built on values of ethical sourcing, sustainable packaging, and human‑made craftsmanship, and embraces inclusivity, creativity, and giving back through community connection, collaborations, and charity initiatives.

Twisted Ambitions remains committed to hands‑on dyeing, supportive engagement with the fibre community, and creating exceptional yarns that makers truly love.

Why you'll love Hand Dyed Yarn

Hand dyed yarn is extra special because every skein is one of a kind. There are no batches and no perfectly matched skeins. This is where you can see the artistic point of view of each dye house we work with. Some dyers are quite exact in their repeatable colours while others are quite artistic and splashy, valuing the creation of each skein rather than the closeness of the colourway.

We take great care to photograph our products accurately, and still the unique skeins in your order may look different to the photograph, and they may even look different to each other. If you are using hand dyed yarns and are concerned with dramatic colour changes, when changing from one skein to the next, alternate rows to blend in the new skein.

Care Instructions

We recommend that items made from 100% Superwash Wool be washed by hand in cold or lukewarm water with a gentle rinse-free detergent. Never wring or twist woollen pieces when washing.
Gently squeeze as much water as possible, roll in a towel and press moisture out. Then lay your finished piece flat to dry.

Wool does not need to be washed after every wear as it is a natural, breathable product. When you can see (or, rarely, smell) that a woollen item is in need of washing, follow the above instructions

You may ask why we suggest hand washing superwash knits. While you should be able to wash superwash knits in a more conventional way, we believe that superwash wool benefits from gentle care, as it will extend the life of your precious hand knit items!
