This July, we’re excited to spotlight Lauren, the creative force behind Mother of Purl. Lauren is a multidisciplinary textile artist who brings a unique touch to every stage of the craft.
Starting with locally-sourced wool, Lauren uses botanical dyes to create rich, natural colours. They then spin this beautifully dyed fibre into yarns that are truly one-of-a-kind. But Lauren’s talents don’t stop there—they’ve designed over 50 knitwear patterns, blending innovation with meticulous attention to detail. Their work has been featured in top publications like Interweave Knits, Vogue Knitting, and Making Magazine, and they are also a proud Season 7 Knitstar.
Lauren’s artistry extends into visual art, creating pieces that complement their textile work and showcase their versatile creativity.
