MKAL 2017 - SPECKLE & POP

Speckle & Pop was the eighth MKAL and the second MKAL in 2017. Three shades fade together in a big first section with short rows chevrons and eyelets. I don't always know what the final shape or techniques are going to be when I design my shawls. Many of the MKAL shawls like Speckle & Pop begin with one interesting section and then I improvise and design the rest of the shawl while I knit. When I design the shawls, it's just as surprising and mysterious for me to come up with the final pattern as it is for others to knit it. The final border is an epic explosion of short rows, yarn overs, brioche, and color pop I-cord edges.
