This small shawl is knitted sideways, starting with an I-cord Tab Cast On. Increases along one edge with corresponding decreases gradually shape the fabric into a thin little scarf. You can pick your favourite kit from West Wool, featuring two skeins of fingering weight Bicycle and a gradient of three shades of mohair lace Glowhair. The lace weight mohair colours are marled together with the fingering-weight wool to create a frothy halo. The stitch patterns feature simple knits and purls together with fascinating lace motifs. The combination of marled colour changes and different stitch patterns makes this an irresistible project. You can wrap the skinny scarf around once or tie it around your neck for a decorative collage of colour!

About the pattern

Two skeins (100g total) of West Wool Bicycle are used throughout the pattern, along with three shades of West Wool Glowhair. The lace-weight mohair colours are marled together with the fingering-weight wool to create a frothy halo. I recommend choosing a gradient of three colours for the lace-weight mohair contrast colours.

The stitch patterns feature simple knits and purls together with fascinating lace motifs. The combination of marled colour changes and different stitch patterns makes this a project that you can’t put down. You will be knitting “just one more row” toward the final decrease point. Wrap the skinny scarf around once or tie it around your neck for a decorative collage of colour.
