JUNE 2021 - CECILIA LOSADA - MAMMADIY

June 01, 2021

June Designer of the Month - MammaDIY - Cecilia Losada

Meet mammadiy Cecilia Losada, our June Designer of the Month. Cecilia is an Argentinian, from Córdoba, who lives in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. She has been a crocheter for nearly 25 years, and is a knitter as well.

Cecilia designs and writes patterns in English and Spanish for bold and colourful crocheted and knit clothing and accessories. Her designs are inspired by the landscapes of her travels, stories of Latin American culture, and her cultural heritage. The designs are intended to be transporting and speak to the rich diversity of the South American continent.

In addition to running a popular YouTube channel and Spanish-language blog, Cecilia runs an online knitting and crochet academy for Spanish speaking crafters and has fostered a supportive crafting community there.

We're delighted to be displaying three of Cecilia's designs in store this month: the Amaru Shawl, and both the knit AND crochet versions of the Abya Yala sweater. Drop into the store this month to see them!
