May 2021 Designer of the Month Sandra Gutierrez Nomad Stitches

Sandra is a designer from Mexico who designs under the label Nomad Stitches. She loves all kinds of crafts, but her real passion lies with crochet. She studied psychology in university in the US, but upon graduating ended up teaching English to students of other languages, which gave her the opportunity to travel the world and live in 9 other countries.

Her experiences abroad and her Mexican heritage influence her designs greatly. Crochet colour work garment construction and design are her great passions. Sandra's number one goal is to elevate crochet beyond the basics and into fashionable modern garments. She currently lives with her family in the UK and is working on her first crochet book while also patiently waiting for her second child.

We're thrilled to be displaying four of Sandra's patterns this month: Teotihuacan Top, Taroko Sweater, Malecon and Kitzbuhel Pullover. Drop by the store to see them in person or keep an eye on our instagram feed to see them profiled. (links go to Ravelry
