Inspired by the Westknits 2023 Hiberknitalong shawl, the Glittering Snowscape Socks have the same delightful collage of eyelets and textured knit and purl stitches. Knit crisp and lively rib, pillar stitch and more, along with a garter stitch heel slap and gusset shaping. Choose your favourite three skein kit with beautiful but strong fingering weight sock yarn and treat your toes to this colourful collage of stitches.

Due to the nature of hand dyed yarn, there may be some variation in colour between skeins. We take great care in photographing our yarns accurately, but some colours may vary slightly from the picture.

About the pattern

Choose three colours of yarn from light to dark and fade them together throughout the textured stitches of this top-down sock. These socks were inspired by my Glittering Snowscape Shawl, a delightful collage of eyelets and textured knit purl patterns. Life in the Long Grass’ High Twist Sock base produces crisp and lively stitches as you work some simple lace, ribbing, a fun Pillar Stitch technique, and several other simple stitch patterns. The heel features a garter stitch heel flap followed by gusset shaping. Instructions include notes to help customise your foot length. Treat your toes to this colourful collage of stitches!

The sample used about an equal amount of yarn for all 3 colours. I recommend having a bit more than the total recommended yardage to give yourself more freedom with your faded colour transitions.
